Welcome to "Pawtraits by Jon" - my name is Jonathan Watson and for over 25 years I have been painting in watercolours and in that time I have produced hundreds of portraits of dogs, cats and horses, all of superb quality and of a true likeness to the original photo.
Pet Portraits make unique gifts for friends, relatives or even yourself and are the perfect way to capture the charm and character of your treasured pets.
Many of my commissioned pet portraits are from people who want a lifelike portrait to remember a recently passed, loved pet. With good photos to work from and by talking to the owners about their pet’s personality I aim to bring their pet to life in my painting.
I also get lots of commissions from people wanting to give pet portraits as a gift. Usually this is a Christmas gift or a birthday gift. If you want to commission a pet portrait as a gift please book early. For those times where the decision is last minute you can always buy a pet portrait gift voucher so that the owner can decide on the pose at a later date, details of these can be found on my
Gift Voucher page.

All that I require as a minimum are 2 or 3 GOOD QUALITY photographs - either original hard copy photos or digital versions.
Working from your photographs, I then produce an original watercolour painting of your pet on high quality, acid-free, textured board.
2 standard sizes of portrait are available,
A4 size (30cm x 20cm)
or
A3 size (40cm x 30cm)
Although any custom size can be produced to your specific requirements.

You may want to order a portrait for family or friends, but do not have access to photos or are not sure what size they would want or it may not always be possible to create a portrait in time for your special date, so a Gift Voucher would be an ideal option in cases like this.
